Let logic be your guide

Waiting until the last minute to make decisions about what to bring on moving day triggers both stress and indecision. If space is a concern (and it always is!), there are ways to downsize and keep what’s important to you. But please don’t try to do that on moving day.

When moving to a smaller space, be prepared to make compromises, and be open to realistic solutions.

Tips:

  1. If you absolutely need a computer desk, you may have to sacrifice another major piece of furniture.
  2. If you have no room for photos in standing frames, mount them on a board instead.
  3. Moving to a space with just a dining nook? Trim your dishes to four place settings.
  4. No oven? Donate all cookware.

If you know you won’t be using it, it makes sense to lose it!
